Unit 15: Data Mining and Text Mining

When looking at translation, I used three different websites.  Google translate, Babelfish and SDL free translation.  I think each of the three had its own pros and cons.  Google translate allows you to translate large passages then the other two.  The other two you can only translate a couple of sentences at a time.  Babelfish and SDL gives you a more accurate translation.  Then google translate.  When you break down google translate into smaller passages/sentences they do offer you some different translate.  All and all I think all three are good websites to use and depending on the size of your translation and the amount of time you have to translate it each are useful in their own way.

For my project I am coming along nicely.  I have identified all of my timeline and am just starting to add some links and pictures to the website.

Unit 14: Big Picture, User Participation Projects and Crowd-Sourcing

I believe the future of interactive, large-scale projects are going to continue to grow and get bigger, as people become more and more use to them.  I think it takes a long time for some educated people to adjust to changing their working styles.  And that when more educators and professors start to see the effectiveness of these projects more will go into them.  Some individuals still don’t see the internet for its true worth.  I think the next generation will really take these projects and crowd sourcing to the next level.

Another user participation project other than wiki would be crowd sourcing would be Mashable, and
